What would happen if he tried to unseat the Morrigan? It was a right predicament, if Vex did say so himself. Now that he was cleared of plotting against her more than usual, things would work back to the proper equilibrium. He's go back to running his clubs and life would get back to normal.

Well, normalish. There was still the matter of replacing Baal and managing the fallout he had with the local redcaps over the issue of his death. They were still smarting that there was no assistance in coming from Vex in pursuits of further chaos, and a few of them were upset that their less than condoned activities that had been netting them a handsome profit were now drastically curtailed.

Still, there'd been abuse of fellow fae -- Light or not -- and that wouldn't fly. Once the help got uppity on torturing their fellows, they started to look at their betters with hunger in their eyes. Vex had to make sure that it known that there were laws to be upheld, and it definitely included trafficking in other Fae. Humans were chattel, that was fine. That's their purpose! But Fae? Not in the slightest. With the succubitch on his tight little ass and his long-term domme now no longer available for her personal services, maybe it was for the best that he focused on business instead of pleasure. He didn't have proper stress relief or the Light's eye on him anymore. He could bother with the fiddly bits of business and lay low for a week or two...

...and again, that idea cropped up. Should he be aiming for Morrigan's slot? Not the fleshy one, he'd already been there before, but the position of power in the colony over the Dark. Due tribute and wielding power however he pleased? That did have its appeal. He managed several clubs, handled humans in their natural, petty habitats. How hard could it be, expanding it to a larger scale?

But first, rest. A couple of weeks with the boring stuff would let the air clear, and then he could start sniffing around FaeFet for suggestions on a new domme - one unconnected to the Morrigan's talent agency, this time - and once refreshed, get back to his bad, bad tricks again. Maybe, then, he could really take the time to ponder on whether or not he was in a station befitting his vast talents and power.

Hitting the remote to his stereo system, he listened to the CD player ready a new disc, and then leaned back on his plush leather couch, sinking into it's curves with a glass of wine in his other hand. As Factory of Dream's Back to Sleep started to flow through the speakers, he rolled his shoulders and tried to relax. Maybe he could find a spliff in his desk or something, if the wine didn't cut it.

Even as he let himself indulge in some well earned rest, he kept coming back to one thought: The Morrigan formerly known as Vex had quite the ring to it.
